King & Flinders Islands Adventure with Trade Travel
Seventeen strangers took off on a small plane, ready to explore the remote beauty of King and Flinders Islands—and returned as great friends! King Island greeted us with warm sunshine and stunning landscapes as we indulged in creamy cheeses at King Island Dairy, learned about the fascinating kelp industry, and savoured fresh crayfish. We relaxed over two wonderful lunches at the local beer distillery, enjoying great hospitality while sampling their craft brews and learning about the island’s brewing process. The adventure continued with breathtaking views at Cape Wickham and an evening visit to see the little penguins. Tasting the island’s local gin and produce rounded out our King Island experience, making every moment truly special.
Flinders Island offered a peaceful escape, showcasing rugged mountains, lush greenery, and stunning remote beaches. We explored national parks, met Kate, the devoted carer of adorable baby wombats, and discovered the island’s rich history of early explorers. A visit to local wineries highlighted the island’s unique flavours, while the stunning coastline and grazing cows added to its untouched charm. With so much to see and experience, this trip was more than just a getaway—it was a journey of connection, discovery, and unforgettable memories. Until next time, King & Flinders!
